I know Boucher is trying to play mind games with his team, telling the press, they are big underdogs and implying that they shouldn't win, pens are better team, it is us against the world!!!
But this is not true. The Sens have a great chance to win tonight. Any team can beat any other team in the NHL on any day/night.
Motivation can have a bigger factor than many people think.
I believe the Sens are motivated.

I hope the Pens can find some extra motivation and are allowed to add their skill to that motivation to win this game!

Good luck to the Penguins. All we can ask is for an evenly called game so the best team wins.

Agreed. Hopefully the refs are not the topic after the game. Just call it consistently is what everyone wants.

I am expecting a contentious call/non-call inside of 43 seconds.

When I said "we can't win" I meant in an overall sense......boring style, boring jerseys.....just a little joke.

What Boucher is doing is obviously gamesmanship.........creating an us against the world environment is the oldest trick in the book.

Just one factor in the game, but if the Sens buy into it and Anderson has extra, extra motivation along with his teammates to win this one for Anderson's wife, then that could be enough to put them over the top.

I'm not sure the Pens won't try to retain Bonino. They shouldn't overpay to do it, but that doesn't mean a GM won't spend spend spend.

Honest question.. do you like the Sens jerseys? I think they are one of, if not the last team to go with the RBK edge look, right? The Pens used to have it with their black and vegas gold jerseys, the Lightning, Flames, and Sabres all had it back when RBK was introduced but they all moved away from it, do you like that the Sens stuck with it?

On one hand I find it hard to believe that professional athletes in the most important game they've played this year need any extra motivation. On the other hand there is a lot of antidotal evidence that this stuff matters.

That said, if you're looking for an edge in this one I'd think the mountain of playoff experience the Pens have with actually winning many important game 7s (and the Stanley Cup about 12 months ago) is a bit more likely to make a difference. If not maybe the fact they've generally outplayed the Senators most of the series...

If I were putting money on the game I'm guessing Penguins. Since it's been 90 years I'm hoping for the Sens. But the great thing about game 7s is no matter who wins, they earned it.

Those were awesome but they bring back memories of those early 90's expansion teams....

Good luck to both sides. I really hope we can pull this off, but it will be a huge uphill battle for our guys against the strength of the Pens and in a noisy sea of yellow. I do hope no-one gets injured and the refs at least try to call the game fairly and evenly. It's been a great run for us and frankly I'll be satisfied if we make a solid effort and keep it close and exciting.

I feel like asking the refs to call it properly is asking too much these days. Just hoping there isn't any egregious calls favouring one team over the other.

Putting Sheary back in might be a good call. I really thought he had been one of the worst Pens forwards prior to them sitting him but it could be the right call now. Maybe he just needed to heal a bit and it can also help your game watching from the press box. He scored some clutch goals for the Pens last year so it might be worth the shot. Nothing against Archie who has played pretty well.

Also hope Horny can make it back in the lineup. Pens could really use him on the PP to attract some attention away from Crosby. Guentzel doesn't fit the need on the 1st PP, so I'd rather even have Kunitz there instead to crash the net and get in Anderson's face.

I still cant decide what I want more... to see the Pens win or to see Melnyk lose.... Lets go Pens!
